Welcome to my Artistic Journey!
I am Terri Filek and I am "TBear" to my friends and family.
I was born and grew up on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in BC and moved to the East Kootenay in my teens. I have immersed myself in studying the beach, ocean waves, lakes and rivers and stunning landscapes the mountains developing a deep appreciation and admiration for nature and wildlife.
My passion for drawing and painting has been a lifelong pursuit, taking many classes and tutorials. I was fortunate to be a teachers aide working with high school students, and for my first work experience, with the Parks and Recreation programs.
I drifted away from creating my own artwork during my working years and my passion has reignited in retirement. I have enjoyed taking more classes and tutorials and have found a focus in creating paintings of nature, the sea, and animals with acrylic painting. I am a certified picture framer.
I have won awards through international juried art competitions online and presented paintings online in international galleries.
